Will an Italian Sim card work in a Samsung A167?

Since my phone is not a quadriband, I will not be able to use it in Italy when I'm there for the holidays. I need to know if there is any way to get an Italian sim shipped to me before i leave, and where to get one, and most importantly, will it work ??
sorry if this seems like I'm asking too much, but I have no idea what I'm doing.
Thanks!

Answer on Will an Italian Sim card work in a Samsung A167?

Ok, since your going to Italy, have you tried unlocking your phone? If not, try to call your service operator and tell them that you want to unlock your phone, which is for free. All you do is give your IMEI # and they will generate your unlock code for you. If you already unlocked your phone and you want to know that your Italian Sim Card works with your unlocked Samsung A167, then look at the 1st link.

Note: The Samsung A167 is designed to work on the 850/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS networks,<== these are called frequency band, they will be important for the type of Italian phone service you are working with for the first link.))

When your on the 1st link, go search for the country you will be going to, Italy. Then check the Frequency first, and remember, the Note: it works with 850 mHz and 1900 mHz only. And if you find the same frequency as the A167, then check the Sim service it works with, that means that the sim that had the matching frequecy as the a167 will work with the Phone. If not, then keep on checking for the matching frequency. If you can not find the Italian service you are going with, call the phone operator, and he will get you there, and don't forget to unlock your phone, remeber its for free, no charge.
