My daughter was born on a US army base in Vicenza Italy, How do we go about getting a Brth. Cert. from there?

The base was in Vicenza, and i do remember haveing to go to Milan or Milano to pick up her Brth, cert. Now i need a replacement and i have no idea if i can do it here in my own US state, or do i have to go thru Italy or even the actual army base. She was born in 1983. And new state laws require her to have it. Any help will be appreciated.

Your daughter's FS-240 Report of Birth was issued by the US consulate in Milan. It is the only evidence that you have that she was born a US citizen. Neither the Italian government not the US military can help you; you can get a copy through the State Department, this way:
http://www.travel.state.gov/family/famil…

Go about halfway down the page, where it talks about "obtaining copies of the FS-240"
