A little help with the electric guitar?

I bought a lectric guitar yesterday and I am self teaching myself but when I go to play E (thickest string) and put my finger on frets 1-11 it makes a buzzing noise too as well as the sound, i think it is that the string is vibrating against the other fret metal bits. How can I stop this?

Also how long did it take you to change from chord A to D to E quickly? Just wondering =]
Oh and is there any either My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Paramore or 30 seconds to mars songs that have easy (ish) tabs to play?

Thanks in advance.

The reason you are hearing a buzzing noise is not because it is hitting the other frets, but simply because you aren't pressing down hard enough. Don't worry, this is normal for beginner players. Its impressive that you haven't got any buzzing on the other strings. Practice makes perfect, so don't lose motivation.

It took about two weeks for me to be able to change between chords quickly, but I wasn't very good at practicing frequently. You only got your guitar yesterday, so don't worry.

The first song I ever learnt on guitar was one by Green day. I can't remember which one, but I remember the chords went G, C, D, E- or something like that.

Hope this helps!
